LOCAL VALENCIA HOLIDAY GUIDE

Valencia - Costa Blanca- Spain

Widely known for Flamenco music, dance, bull-fights, fantastic beaches and lots of sunshine, Spain has to offer much more than that. It is - and has been for thousands of years - one of the cultural centres of Europe. It has beautiful cities and towns, offering really old monuments as well as futuristic architecture. Its various regions are all different one to each other, geographically, climatically and even in personality.

Dubbed The White Coast by the Ancient Greeks who visited here, the Costa Blanca is today one of Spain's principal tourist spots. Millions flock here every year for the radiant sunshine, white sand and exciting entertainment. There is so much more to the Costa Blanca than its tourist hotspots. Small, sandy coves, rugged hillsides and delightful, rural landscape, dotted with orange groves and sleepy Moorish villages.

The Costa Blanca is particularly suited to sailing and diving with leisure ports and marinas in all the towns along the coast. The Costa Blanca also boasts a number of fine golf courses, many with frontline golf residential properties available. For children there are three Safari Parks and two Water Parks. Something for everyone!

One of the biggest cities in Spain, and among the most liveliest. It is located on the Mediterranean sea, and is skirted at the back by a group of medium-high mountains and rolling plains leading to the lands of Aragon and Castile-La Mancha. You will find beaches right in the very heart of it. During the summer-months tourists heavily visit it, and if you want to spend holidays at the beach, it offers a number of sports including golf, diving, cycling, tennis. In Valencia's centre you will find a medieval cathedral and its octagonal bell tower, El Miguelete, impressive city gates, and other monuments.

Museums here include the Museum of Fine Arts and the Valencia Institute of Modern Art. The newest attractions are a science museum and an IMAX theatre.

The nearest airports are Valencia 13 kilometres / 8 Miles West of the City and Alicante.
